Ben Gordon continues to be lost in limbo as training
camp approaches. The Bulls will likely sign him to a one year tender offer
but he doesn’t want to sign with them and would like to be traded to a team
like the Heat. There have been discussions but if that leads anywhere is up
to the Heat/Bulls to decide.
As mentioned last week in this article, the free
agents that are getting signed right now are the guys that are restricted
free agents that would fit best with the team they have been with. ...

Sports betting is an extremely fun activity if you know who’s who in the
sports world. There are many types of betting involved, which makes watching
sports turn into a
casino like environment at home because of the stakes involved. In the
United Kingdom, this has been a traditional cultural past time making the
world’s most popular sport, football / soccer the game of choice to bet on.
Research the games, and check out the stats before you play, here on

I turned, ugh, well, let’s just say I’m a mature woman; I have had to deal
with sudden irrational feelings and the out of body experience as I feel my
body turn into a puddle of sweat.
This passage in a woman’s life is apparently, mandatory. But by god if I
could bypass it I would.
It’s not fun on anyone within a 20 foot radius of Ms. Sweaty.
I chuckle when I recall a hilarious episode of, All in the Family, or as I
always refer to it, the Archie Bunker show....

Jim Furyk carries himself with a quiet
intensity. He is a driven, consistent,
excellent player who has proven his
meddle over the course of his career.
When he clinched the Ryder Cup for the
United States on Sunday, though, Furyk
became emotionally effusive. In
speaking with NBC Sports about what it
meant to be the man to clinch the first
USA victory in nine years and three
tries, Furyk choked up with tears. He
said that he knew he would even after
having several minutes to celebrate and
appreciate the moment with his team and
the fans. After having been pasted in
each of the last three cups – and being
in the losing match in 2002 – Furyk was
overwhelmed to regain the Ryder Cup....

MLB Insider: Remembering September 11th, 2001…
Off to the Races As I sit before my computer and type away, the
events of this day, September 11th, 2001 are just as clear in my
mind as they were seven years ago.
I
can remember everything that I did on that morning – where I was, exactly
what I was doing.
I also remember oh so clearly
various workers being called to the phone and seeing the shock on their
face, the tears flowing and that heartbreak look as they fled work to head
home...

Winter Classic ’09… Kontinental
Hockey League… Coaching Carousel Gray Skies, icy cold temperatures and snow didn’t stop well over 70,000
fans pack the outdoor elements at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, New York
for the first NHL Winter Classic last New Year’s Day.
The success of the event for the
businesses in and around the city of Orchard Park, New York provided the NHL
with plenty of ammunition to make this event an annual one. With that,
after many months the NHL on July 22nd announced that there would
be a Winter Classic II to be held at Wrigley Stadium in Chicago...

Upon Further Review:
2008 Predictions Welcome to the latest edition of "Upon Further Review" as
this is my final warm-up before the regular season starts and my
last chance to get into mid-season form.
The
preseason has come and gone. Yes, I know there is still one more preseason
game left to play for everyone but let's be serious here... this game is
less than a preseason game, it’s strictly a glorified scrimmage. So, with
that in mind I will give you all my predictions for the year...

Speaking of Sports: TRS: The Real
Story Behind the Garza-Navarro Meeting The Tampa Bay Sports Net has in its possession the
conversations between Rays’ pitcher Matt Garza and catcher Dioner Navarro on
the mound, when Garza got a close-up look at what Navarro wears on his face,
in the dugout when they met again and in the runway leading to the visitor’s
clubhouse.
Without anyone’s knowledge, a
miniature microphone was cleverly embedded in the catcher's mask padding and
every word was heard across the Gulf of Mexico (when you are in an area
loaded with 1,000-5,000 watt radio stations, you know you can hear them
further out in the water to the west than you do over land to the east).
So without further adieu, TBSN brings
you the complete blow-by-blow from start to finish.

Thinking Out Loud: Going To Hell In
a Handbasket Almost a month ago I penned a piece about the entertainment at Tropicana
Field – (Rays Missing a Beat on In-house Fun) - and how the departure of
John Franzone, a.k.a John the Maestro, has left a huge void inside the
stadium.
Having been inside the House of the Tilted Roof this entire homestand, there
has been something else that has been gnawing at me but I just couldn't put
my finger on it until Sunday's homestand finale with the White Sox....

Thinking Out Loud: The Wacky World
of the Steinbrenner’s
Answer me this? How am I to explain
Hank Steinbrenner to my grandchildren?
It's bad enough that I raised a son
who became a Yankee fan - it was a Mets' household until I moved to Florida
to join BaysBall Nation, and the so-called smart one of the twins went to
the dark side (of New York blue) - but what's up with the new mouth of the
north?
It appears for all all intents and
purposes the little Hankie has all of his father's mouth but not the sense
of his brother Hal, the Quiet Man, a dozen years his junior.
Not one month into the season the
team's co-chairman effectively called his new manager an idiot....

guy who cost the team $60 million to pry him away from Detroit. Gray, while
looking like a possible option in the pre-season, has does nothing but
gather splinters since the season started. In this interview, Wallace
comments on the teams’ chances to make the finals and what he did to improve
in the off-season. Gray explains the difference in the pro game compared to
college and if he regrets staying an extra year in college....

Really right now, it's New England's world and we’re just
living in it. Someone may knock them off, but until they do, we all bow down
to the kings of the NFL. They either stomp you, or you can play a perfect
game against them as the Giants did and they come from behind if necessary.
Either way, they win...more

This is how upside down this season is, the Cardinals are in first

be getting stronger every week....more

Houston has reached a deal with the Kings for the moody forward, sending Donte
Greene, Bobby Jackson and a first-round draft choice to Sacramento. The trade
can't be official until August 14th due to a league rule the prevents players
from being traded within 30 days of signing a contract (which Greene did
mid-July), but Houston fans are already abuzz at Artest's impending arrival...more

Richie Sexson of the woeful Seattle Mariners is simply the latest example of the

American League West Division was tied for the second worst in the majors, a
whopping 20 games BEHIND the league-leading Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim, who
are 57-38...more

NBA Age Limit - A Blessing in
Disguise
The 2007 NBA draft class was the most hyped and highly covered
of any draft class in the last five years and maybe even this
decade - and 9 of the 10 first picks were still teenagers.
Something very profound has occurred in the NBA in the past two
years due in large part to the new rule that disallows any high
school student from entering the NBA draft until they are 19
years old...more

A few weeks ago we talked about the case against Michael Vick.

fighting, blood doping, its an epidemic at this point and its
time someone does something.
