Heads Up Poker Game Online Strategies

Heads-up poker online is very popular among high stakes players, firstly because they do not risk being cheated by a team, secondly that the rake online is low, even though many more hands are dealt per hour, the rake is not a substantial part of the stakes they play and thirdly because the games are so fast that they can win money faster than they would in a full ring game of ten players (and also lose money a lot faster).

Heads-up poker needs to be played extremely aggressive if a player wants to succeed and that player also need be able to adjust after opponents playing styles quicker or else they will be devoured in no time. The typical heads-up player raises as good as every hand pre-flop and continue to play aggressive after the flop, often hands is won by having your opponent fold before show down.

Naturally heads-up poker is for very strong and experienced players who can handle tough opponents and keep up with the pace of the game. Also the bank roll requirements are larger because the swings a player experiences are extreme in comparison to a full ring game of ten players for example.

For low limit players heads-up poker is best played in tournament style as the rake will be high in standard heads up cash games. Tournaments have a fixed buy-in with and fixed fee so you know how much you pay to the poker room and you will also know in advance how much you will win and lose. Heads-up tournaments are a great way to practice No Limit heads up play. By playing tournaments you will minimize the losses and simplify keeping track of your bank roll.
