Already the greatest shortstop in the
history of the game, Alex Rodriguez is often compared with
contemporaries like Nomar Garciaparra, Derek Jeter and Miguel
Tejada. Fantastic players all, perhaps even Hall of Famers in
their own right, but A-Rod is in a class by himself.
His incredible offensive skill would make him a premier
player at even the easiest of defensive positions, such as Barry
Bonds in left field, but A-Rod plays an incredible shortstop,
which makes him all the more unique in baseball history.
One has to look an entire century back to Honus Wagner to
find a shortsto who approached A-Rod's dominance of the game.
