Dunn excites with his awesome power, but he has not yet made the adjustments to cut down on strikeouts and lift his average out of the doldrums. Though his patience and ability to wait out walks are admirable, his patience also can become a liability. He often will take too many pitches, waiting for the one he can lift for the longball. As he a result, he lets too many strikes pass him by and thus puts himself more at the pitcher's mercy. Dunn has also not adjusted to being crowded by hard stuff, nor has stopped chasing offspeed pitches off the plate. He has power to the opposite field but falls into the habit of trying to be to pull-conscious.
