Lightning Welcome New Owners to Tampa Bay

Last Wednesday the NHL owners unanimously voted the sale of the Tampa Bay Lightning from Palace Sports and Entertainment to OK Hockey, led by Hollywood producer Oren Koules and former NHL player Len Barrie.

Days later, Oren Koules took to the podium in his first official task as the new owner at the 2008 NHL Entry Draft to announce the Lightning’s selection, which also happened to be the number one overall pick.

Those two days were monumental for Koules and Barrie, with the actual realization that they were indeed the owners of the Tampa Bay Lightning at long last.... more

Each year the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association plays homage to the many players that have excelled during the course of the season under the lights with a spectacular awards show in Toronto, Canada.
