a quarter of the way into the NHL season. Do you know where your local
hockey team stands? No? Well don’t feel so bad, apparently you’re not
alone. Hockey, unfortunately is on the decline. Once part of the “big
4” in sports along with the NFL, MLB, and NBA the NHL now finds itself
on the outside looking in as NASCAR, for all intents and purposes, has

“Camp Melrose
Place” Two Weeks Away
New ownership, a new coach, new assistants
and a virtually a new Lightning team will begin their 16th NHL
training camp on Tuesday, September 16th at a new training camp venue
– the St. Pete Times Forum.
With a very short camp and exhibition
games soon after reporting (because of their trip to Prague to open the NHL
season), new ownership and coach Barry Melrose decided that training camp would
be less wear and tear on the players and on the staff and as well more
economical in the long run
I know it’s
been awhile but after getting over the lovely depression that set in after we
choked against the Flyers, a busy court schedule in May and a hectic June at the
office, I finally have a chance to write. As Master Po from Kung Fu said right
before the Emperor’s nephew shot him, humble apologies...

Winter Classic
’09… Kontinental Hockey League… Coaching Carousel
Gray Skies, icy cold temperatures and snow
didn’t stop well over 70,000 fans pack the outdoor elements at Ralph Wilson
Stadium in Buffalo, New York for the first NHL Winter Classic last New Year’s
Day.
The success of the event for the
businesses in and around the city of Orchard Park, New York provided the NHL
with plenty of ammunition to make this event an annual one. With that, after
many months the NHL on July 22nd announced that there would be a
Winter Classic II to be held at Wrigley Stadium in Chicago....
