 Draft Picks
Lawrence Jackson
Jackson is a complete defensive end. He produced 30.5 sacks at USC  Jackson should initially contribute with the Seahawks as a situational pass rusher.
John Carlson
Fred Davis was still on the board. But in Carlson Seattle gets a player who has solid blocking potential, though he appears limited in his pass-catching ability.
Red Bryant
His role will be to keep blockers off Lofa Tatupu and collapse the pocket. He's a run stuffer who will probably come off the field in passing situations.
Owen Schmitt
He fits the mold of a blocking NFL fullback and probably will not get a lot of touches as a rusher or receiver, but is unafraid to throw himself into bigger defenders and sacrifice his body.
Tyler Schmitt
He is the best long snapper in the draft.
Justin Forsett
An impressive burst but is undersized. He doesn't have great sprinting speed but is quick and can change direction quickly.
Brandon Coutu
With the loss of Josh Brown, the Seahawks will use Coutu to compete with Olindo Mare at kicker.

Seattle Seahawks 2008 NFL Preview

The Seahawks are the owners of the division’s best combination of talent and experience. The age thing will keep them back as much as it helps, and with Mike Holmgrem walking at the end of the year they will be trying to send him out on top. This is the NFC West though and you cant count the Seahawks out just yet. The Seahawks are still the most talented team in the NFC West, but how many years of decent, but not impressive football can this team play? At some point you have to start to wonder if they lack motivation.

Offense: Matt Hasselback had his best year last year, but he is 34 years old. He made it through the year last year with various injuries. For the Seahawks to have a chance, he must stay healthy. Bobby Engram is 35 years old at WR and Nate Burleson is inconsistent so the loss of Deion Branch will be painful. The Seahawks dumped MVP Shaun Alexander and replaced him with Julius Jones, T.J. Duckett, and Owen Schmitt. The offense should take a step back this year.

Defense: The line is deep and Lawrence Jackson should make an immediate impact. If Marcus Tubbs recovers well, then the Hawks line should make a vast improvement against the run. What we don't understand is how with all the talent the Seahawks have on defense they are not just dominant. We expect the Seahawks to be middle of the pack in defense yet again.

Projected Record: 9-7 second in NFC West
