| QB |
Vinny
Testaverde - The fact that he is listed here at something like
123 years old should tell you where we now stand at the quarterback
position.... They are all gone. |
| RB |
Anthony Thomas
- Though Thomas showed flashes when he was a starter in Chicago, his
limited ability as a straight-ahead power runner makes him less attractive
as a feature back. |
Antowain Smith - Still has
a little left in the tank for 2005. I don't know how much more at
age 32 but someone can use him as a backup still. |
| WR |
Troy
Brown - If he was 5 years younger this would be the no brainer
number one guy to go after. Age and speed work against him.
Versatility and attitude on the plus side. Will make someone a great
#3 and punt returner |
| TE |
Freddie Jones
- For some reason everyone seems to
love this guy, but he has found the end zone a mere six times in the past
three seasons combined. |
| OL |
Victor
Riley - He has the lower body strength to beat average
defenders off the snap, and the reach to keep back pass rushers. Pro Bowl
quality player |
Rich
Braham - Aging center who spent most of 2004 on IR. Prior
to injury was a fixture for years. Can he come back? |
| DL |
Tony Williams - Even though a chop block
broke his ankle leading to him missing ten games in '04, when healthy, he
is a solid tackler who penetrates well. Probably the best bet if he
heals well. |
Courtney Brown - Brown played five
injury-plagued seasons with the Browns and never lived up to expectations.
He is a former first rounder who could still blossom...Maybe. |
| LB |
Anthony
Simmons - Simmons was plagued by injuries in 2004. He will
likely catch on with another team and is worth keeping an eye on.
The Chiefs should be looking at him as an upgrade. |
| DB |
Andre
Dyson - With his burst and ball skills, he has developed into
one of the league's steadiest cover corners. Not a superstar, but
doesn't cost like one either. Plus he is still very young and can
help a team for several years. |
Ty Law
- At this stage in his career and coming off his injury I am going to list
him as low simply because I don't think he is in the top 3 corners |
