Redskins’ Moss scores 2 TDs in 25-17 win vs. Lions
The Washington Redskins have been waiting for the right
opportunity to have Santana Moss return a punt.
Perfect timing.
Moss returned a punt 80 yards early in the fourth quarter, scoring what proved
to be Washington’s game-winning touchdown in a 25-17 win over the Detroit Lions
on Sunday.
“Once he gets open, he’s tough to catch in the open field,” Redskins coach Jim
Zorn said.
Moss’ second TD of the game came on his only punt return of the day and just his
second of the season.
“I was telling somebody earlier in the year, `It’s not like I don’t know how to
do it anymore or I don’t want to do it anymore,”’ said Moss, whose last TD on a
punt return was in 2002 with the New York Jets. “When the time is needed, I’m
more than happy to go back there.”...more

Preview:
One of the Washington Redskins' stars felt his team played down
to its opposition when it was upset by a previously winless team two weeks ago.
After overcoming a bad first half to survive another close call last week,
they'll try to return to form by taking advantage of another of the NFL's worst
teams. The Redskins look to improve to 6-2 for the first time in eight years
when they visit the winless Detroit Lions on Sunday. After a season-opening loss
to the New York Giants, Washington went on a four-game win streak, defeating New
Orleans and Arizona before notching impressive road victories over NFC East
rivals Dallas and Philadelphia...
Pick: The Redskins keep getting better as time goes on and the Lions are,
well, the Lions. Redskins have won 18 of last 20 contests and are 5-2 ATS in
their last seven meetings. Redskins 27 - Lions 10
Notable:
On paper this should be
Washington easily, but they might be getting overconfident at this point
in the season and the Lions showed some life last week in Houston. An
upset is very possible
