Brett Favre trudged back to the New York Jets’ sideline after throwing his third
interception, this one returned for a touchdown, and the fans let him have it.
“I’ve heard them in Green Bay before,” Favre said. “I don’t blame them, but it
was a little premature, as we see now.”
After struggling all game, Favre connected with Laveranues Coles for a 15-yard
touchdown pass with 1 minute left as the Jets escaped with a 28-24 victory over
the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
“I knew one thing: I’d go down swinging, however that may be,” the 39-year-old
Favre said after his 41st career fourth-quarter comeback. “I just wanted to give
those guys a chance.”
The heavily favored Jets (4-3) overcame three interceptions by Favre and an
upset-minded Chiefs (1-6) team using its third-string quarterback...more

Preview:
Brett Favre will extend his record streak of consecutive starts
to 260 games on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs would simply like their
quarterback to stay on the field. A troubled Chiefs team featuring a
third-string quarterback, an inactive starting running back and the second-worst
rated defense in the league must deal with Favre and the New York Jets on Sunday
at Giants Stadium. After losing their top two quarterbacks to injury last
Sunday, the Chiefs will send out third-stringer Tyler Thigpen for his second
career start...more
Pick:
No NFL team is as much of a mess on and off the field as
the Chiefs right now, especially because of Larry Johnson's recent behavioral
meltdown. He's been benched again by head coach Herm Edwards for this one and
they have no answers. However Herm Edwards knows how to keep a game in control
so bet the Chiefs Jets 17 - Chiefs 10
Notable:
KC is 15-5 ATS after allowing 25 points or more in 2
straight games since 1992 and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 as double-digit
underdogs.
KC doesn't travel well
and has league's worst offense, and that's before two of their three bad
QBs were injured and women-disrespecting Larry Johnson was benched
again.
Jets RB Jones should have big day against Chiefs
Newsday, NY - 12 hours ago
Jones probably is taking the right tack in saying that, though
the numbers suggest a big day on the ground for the Jets. The Chiefs
come in ranked 32nd ...
