Walter, Texans send Bengals to 0-8 in 35-6 drubbing
Kevin Walter is much better against the Cincinnati Bengals than
he was as one.
In his first meeting against his former team, Walter scored two touchdowns to
lead the Houston Texans to a 35-6 victory over the winless Bengals on Sunday.
Walter scored one touchdown in three seasons with Cincinnati, but set a career
high by scoring his fourth and fifth touchdowns of the year on Sunday.
Of course, Walter had help from a bevy of strong Texans performances led by Matt
Schaub’s three touchdown passes and Andre Johnson’s fourth straight 100-yard
game.
The win gave Houston (3-4) three consecutive victories in a single season for
the first time in franchise history, and dropped Cincinnati to 0-8 for the
fourth time. The Bengals are two losses away from their team-worst 0-10 start,
which came in 1993.
The 29-point loss is their largest of the season and they’ve allowed 73 points
in the last two weeks...more

Preview:
The winless Cincinnati Bengals could be missing their starting
quarterback for the remainder of 2008, and already will be without their top
draft pick for the rest of the season. Oddly enough, their best chance to
finally break into the win column could be coming up on Sunday when the Bengals
head to Reliant Stadium looking for their fourth consecutive victory over the
Houston Texans. With a 38-10 loss to Pittsburgh last week, Cincinnati (0-7)
remained winless through seven games for the fifth time since 1991...more
Pick:
There is certainly some upset possibility here (as there
is with any 0-7 team) but Houston is 2-1 at home and has won two in a row, so
they have all the momentum, but 9 is way too many points to lay against a team
that has an offense that good potentially. The Bungles are back, and they
are cursed Texans 34 - Bengals 27
Notable:
The still-Carson
Palmer-less 'Gals are 0-4 on the road, struggle on offense, and put a
bad defense up against a Texans team averaging 28 points the past four
games.
The Bungles have no way of
slowing down both Andre Johnson and Steve Slaton, and on the other side,
expect Mario Williams to blow by them to drop Ryan Fitzpatrick a few
times.
