Ravens end losing streak beating Dolphins in Miami 27-13
With one hand Cam Cameron held a clipboard, and with the other
he waved a jubilant fist. As the Baltimore Ravens’ offense trotted off the field
following its final score, he greeted players with handshakes, hugs and slaps on
the backside.
It was the sort of scene common on the visitors’ sideline in Miami last year,
when Cameron was the Dolphins’ head coach.
The visitors won again Sunday, this time with Cameron as their offensive
coordinator. He orchestrated four scoring drives against the team he coached to
only one win in 2007, and the Ravens broke a three-game losing streak by beating
the Dolphins 27-13.
Mindful of Cameron’s history in Miami, the Ravens gave him a game ball.
“This is going to go home to my wife Missy and to my kids, because it’s a lot
tougher on them than it will ever be on us coaches,” Cameron said in the locker
room, his eyes watery and his voice breaking. “That’s why it’s a little
emotional. … When you give your heart and soul to something and it doesn’t work
out, some of that pain comes back.”
Miami’s lone victory last season came against Baltimore in December, which
wasn’t enough to save Cameron’s job. Since changing teams, he has searched for
consistency from the Ravens, and they finally found it with scoring drives of
42, 67, 67 and 68 yards...

Preview:
While a matchup of the revitalized Miami Dolphins offense and
the vaunted Baltimore Ravens defense holds some interest, Sunday's game appeared
to be just as intriguing because of Cam Cameron's presence. Now John Harbaugh
has made sure it will be. A comment by the first-year Ravens coach in defending
Cameron's stint as Dolphins coach last season has sparked outrage in the Miami
locker room, bringing a bigger spotlight to a game between teams just trying to
reach...more
Pick: Last year, this was Miami's only win. This year it
will be one of many as the Dolphins are in the midst of what we feel is one of
the biggest turnarounds in NFL history. Miami's last three games, they beat the
Pats and Chargers then lost in the closing seconds to the Texans.
The Dolphins have also won five of six regular-season meetings
with the Ravens. Dolphins 24 - Ravens 13
Notable:
The Ravens have fallen on decidedly hard times, losing three
games in a row and averaging all of 11 points per game in the process. Up next:
a Dolphins offense that has been one of the league's most productive this year
with 357.4 yards per game
