Packers and Rodgers sink
rudderless Seahawks 27-17
New Page 1
Aaron Rodgers
again ignored pain. He heaped it
on the sinking Seahawks instead.
Green Bay’s ailing quarterback
ran for a touchdown early, then
threw two scoring passes in the
second half to perhaps save the
Packers’ season in a 27-10
victory over Seattle on Sunday
that ended a three-game slide.
Seattle paid for having to start
No. 3 quarterback Charlie Frye.
It looked inept on offense while
dropping to 1-4—the equal of the
St. Louis Rams at the bottom of
the NFC West the Seahawks have
ruled the last four seasons.
Seattle was last 1-4 in 2002,
its most recent losing season.
Rodgers, again starting despite
a sprained throwing shoulder,
was 21-for-30 with 208 yards as
Green Bay (3-3) won for the 10th
time in 13 road games.
Frye completed 12 of 23 passes
for just 83 yards with two
touchdowns and two interceptions
for the Seahawks, who lost for
the second time in three home
games. They entered the season
an NFC-best 42-14 at home since
2001...

Preview:
After meeting in the playoffs last season, the Green Bay Packers
and Seattle Seahawks were both expected to contend for division crowns again.
However, with struggling defenses and banged-up quarterbacks, both teams are
currently struggling.
The Packers try to avoid losing four straight games for the first time in three
years on Sunday when they visit a Seahawks team trying to bounce back from a
humiliating defeat.
Green Bay (2-3) and Seattle (1-3) won the NFC North and West, respectively, last
season, and matched up in a divisional playoff game at Lambeau Field on Jan. 12.
The Packers fell behind by two touchdowns four minutes into the game, but Brett
Favre rallied them to a 42-20 victory - his final win as a Packer.
Aaron Rodgers got off to a solid start as Favre's replacement, as the Packers
opened 2008 with consecutive victories. Very little has gone right since,
however, as Green Bay has dropped its last three games....
Seattle's 38-point loss
in Week 5 was its worst since the Jets took a 41-3 win over the Seahawks
way back in 1997
Opposing
quarterbacks have averaged a 107.3 rating against the Seahawks this
season (3rd highest in the league) and have 12 completions of 25 or more
yards vs. the Seattle defense in 2008 — tied for most in football
Greg Jennings is averaging 113.8
receiving yards per game this season (best in the league) and has three
touchdown catches in his last two games. Jennings has eight receptions
of 25+ yards in 2008 — also best in football
