Bills lose
Edwards, first game of season 41-17 to Cards
Adrian Wilson nearly sat out Sunday’s game against Buffalo
because of a sore hamstring. The decision to let him play brought a painful,
early end to Trent Edwards’ day.
Wilson’s fierce hit on the third play of the game sent the Bills quarterback to
the locker room with a concussion, and the Arizona Cardinals went on to
emphatically hand Buffalo its first loss of the season, 41-17.
“I had my mind made up this morning that I was going to play,” Wilson said.
“Coach (Ken) Whisenhunt asked me if I had a role, what would it be. I said I
could go on third down. That was my role.”
Kurt Warner bounced back from an awful weekend at the Meadowlands to pick apart
the Bills’ defense with short passes, completing 33 of 42 for 250 yards with no
interceptions. Nine Arizona receivers had catches. The Cardinals had no lost
fumbles or interceptions...more

It's been four years since the Buffalo Bills last had a winning
season, and even longer since they reached the playoffs. History says a victory
on Sunday over the Arizona Cardinals all but guarantees those streaks will end.
Off to their best start in 16 years, the surprising Bills look to keep their
perfect record intact when they visit a Cardinals team hoping to avoid a third
straight loss.
While the Bills (4-0) were expected to make progress this year following three
straight losing seasons, a perfect record after four games seemed unlikely
considering they hadn't started that well since 1992 during the glory days of
Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and Bruce Smith...more
Fun Fact: The Bills have trailed entering the fourth
quarter in three straight games and have outscored opponents by a combined 45-10
in the fourth quarter in those three contests
Inside the Game Plans:
Notable:
BILLS: The
ingredients are in place for a shootout against the Cardinals, who rank
10th in points scored (26.5) and 25th in points allowed (25.8). Even
without WR Anquan Boldin (head), Arizona is dangerous on offense as
evidenced by its 35-point explosion in the second half of last week's
loss to the Jets. If Buffalo learned anything watching tape is that it
needs to put pressure on veteran QB Kurt Warner, who stumbled about with
five turnovers, but still finished with 472 yards passing...FULL

CARDINALS:
Offensively, the Cardinals need to take advantage of a Bills secondary
that's suffering some injuries. The key to that will be protecting
quarterback Kurt Warner, which was a problem last week against the Jets.
That led to Warner committing six turnovers, which cost the team the
game. Defensively, the Cardinals simply need to get tougher. They wilted
in the fourth quarter of a loss at Washington, and their pass defense
was horrible last week...FULL
