Broncos rally from early deficit to
beat Chiefs 24-17
The Denver Broncos keep losing players, but finally found a way
to win at home.
Jay Cutler guided the Broncos on a tiebreaking 95-yard touchdown drive early in
the fourth quarter and Denver’s defense stuffed Kansas City quarterback Tyler
Thigpen on fourth-and-goal to rally past the Chiefs 24-17 on Sunday.
The Broncos (8-5) snapped a three-game skid at home and put themselves on the
cusp of ending a three-year playoff drought. They lead second-place San Diego by
three games in the middling AFC West.
The bad news for the Broncos was they lost bulldozing rookie running back Peyton
Hillis to a strained right hamstring. He’s their sixth tailback to go down this
season.
Cutler completed 32 of 40 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns, both of them
to Brandon Marshall, including a 6-yarder for the winner early in the fourth
quarter.
Cutler’s only bad pass all day was returned by rookie nickel back Maurice
Leggett for a 27-yard touchdown in the first quarter that gave Kansas City
(2-11) a 10-0 lead...

The Denver Broncos looked
like one of the favorites for
the AFC title with the way they
started the season, but a Week 4
loss to the Kansas City Chiefs
sent them reeling. The Broncos
have since gotten their season
back on track and built a
commanding lead atop the AFC
West. Denver looks to move
closer to its first playoff
berth in three years and avenge
its early season loss to the
Chiefs when these division
rivals meet Sunday at Invesco
Field. The Broncos (7-5) lead
the AFC West by three games in
the loss column over San
Diego...
Prediction: Five starters on
IR and continue to win, credit coach Mike Shanahan. Let's try some logic here.
The Raiders stomped the Broncos in Denver 2 weeks ago, the Chiefs beat the
Raiders in Oakland last week. So does it follow that the Chiefs beat the Broncos
this week? Ummm Hell No Broncos 28 - Chiefs 24
