Clinton Portis is turning into the NFL’s version of Allen
Iverson. He doesn’t need practice. Just bring on the real games.
“I’ve been playing in the league for seven years. My reads don’t change.

Portis gained 143 yards on 29 carries, including key runs late that helped
preserve the Redskins’ first victory in almost a month, 20-17 over the Seattle
Seahawks.
“He went to heroics,” coach Jim Zorn said after his own triumphant return
following two decades as a star quarterback and then an assistant for the
Seahawks, who had ended Washington’s seasons here in the playoffs in the past
two postseasons.
Portis was questionable to play after missing most of practice last week because
of his sprained knee. Then, the NFL’s leader in yards from scrimmage pulled a
muscle near his hip late in the first half...more

Jim Zorn is as much a
prominent part of Seattle
Seahawks' history as anybody
who's played for the franchise,
but his only focus this week is
beating his former team. The
first-year Washington Redskins
coach hopes his club can avoid a
third straight loss when he
returns to Seattle for the first
time to face the struggling
Seahawks on Sunday. Zorn was the
first-ever starting quarterback
for the Seahawks, starring for
the franchise from 1976-1984.
The 1976 NFC offensive rookie of
the year also is one of eight
players inducted in the team's
ring of honor...
Prediction: Seahawks legends
Jim Zorn and Shaun Alexander return home this week. The emotion should help, but
not as much as the current Seahawks who are as terrible at defending the pass
(31st) as they are airing it out themselves (31st). Washington is playing for
their season with the Giants coming to town the following week Redskins 21 - Seahawks 12
