Bucs score in all 3 phases to keep Lions winless 38-20
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are getting pretty good at rallying
against bad teams after digging big holes.
Tampa Bay fell behind the winless Detroit Lions by 17 points, then scored five
unanswered touchdowns en route to a 38-20 victory Sunday.
The Buccaneers came back from a 24-3 deficit two weeks ago against the lowly
Kansas City Chiefs and won in overtime.
“We don’t seem to make it easy on ourself and it’s not always pretty,” Jeff
Garcia said. “But we find ways to do it.”
Tampa Bay (8-3) earned its third straight victory to maintain its strong
standing in the playoff race.
Detroit (0-11) moved a step closer toward becoming the NFL’s first 0-16 team.
“We’ve played so bad that we actually have something to play for now,” kicker
Jason Hanson said...more

As they pursue their
second straight division title,
the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face
the challenge of playing the
rest of their season without
their leading rusher. With the
way Jeff Garcia and the defense
are playing, along with an
experienced stable of reserve
running backs, their situation
may not be so dire. Garcia looks
to lead the Buccaneers to their
third consecutive victory on
Sunday when they visit the
winless Detroit Lions. With last
Sunday's 19-13 win over
Minnesota, Tampa Bay (7-3)
improved to 4-1 since Garcia
regained the starting
quarterback job he lost when he
played poorly in a
season-opening defeat...
Prediction: The Lions'
perfect season won't be in jeopardy this week with the motivated Bucs, who have
won four of five and are getting better every week. Warrick Dunn moves into the
featured tailback role now that Earnest Graham (ankle) is done for the year Bucs 27 - Lions 10
