Lelie back in Denver, helps Raiders to 31-10 upset
Ashley Lelie and the Oakland Raiders both got even with the
Denver Broncos.
The deep-threat receiver who forced a trade out of Denver in 2006 after a bitter
holdout returned to Invesco Field on Sunday and helped lead the Raiders to a
stunning 31-10 win over the Broncos with his best game in years.
“I’ve been dreaming for this moment ever since I left here,” Lelie said after
catching a touchdown pass and setting up another TD with a spectacular 51-yard
catch. “It feels good that it was with the Raiders.”
Lelie, who caught a cosmetic touchdown in Oakland’s season-opening 41-14 loss to
Denver, languished in Atlanta, San Francisco and even Oakland before he returned
to rock the Broncos with four catches for 92 yards, nearly doubling his season
totals...more

Preview:
Two weeks ago, the Denver
Broncos had lost three straight
games and several key players to
injuries - and they also looked
to be losing their grip on the
AFC West lead. Instead, their
road to the division title is
clearer than ever, and they are
in great position to earn a
third straight victory on Sunday
as they face the offensively
inept Oakland Raiders at Invesco
Field. After riding Jay Cutler's
arm to a 4-1 start, the Broncos
(6-4) faltered defensively
during a three-game skid...
Prediction: With two
straight road wins, the Broncos have opened up a two-game lead in the AFC West,
thanks mainly to the golden arm of Jay Cutler. Cutler is third in the league in
touchdown passes and passing yardage. The Raiders always play the Broncos close
so this line is a little high. Broncos 20 - Raiders 13
