Eagles and Bengals kiss each others sisters, tie 13-13
Given the way Donovan McNabb played, the Philadelphia Eagles
were lucky to get the tie.
McNabb fumbled and threw three interceptions in regulation, and nearly had
another pass picked off in overtime Sunday as the Eagles and Bengals played to a
13-13 tie, the NFL’s first in six years.
Cincinnati’s Shayne Graham missed a 47-yard field goal with 7 seconds left in
overtime, falling to the ground as the ball sailed a few inches wide to the
right. It was a fitting way to end a game played like the very definition of a
tie. Despite all the shanked punts and trick plays, this one went nowhere.
It was the first tied game in the NFL since Nov. 10, 2002, when the Falcons and
Steelers finished 34-34 with Michael Vick and Tommy Maddox matching each other
pass for pass. In this one, the teams matched each other gaffe for gaffe.
The Eagles (5-4-1) have yet to win a close game this season, going 0-4 with a
tie in games decided by less than a touchdown. McNabb had a big hand in this
one, matching his career high with three interceptions and setting up 10 of
Cincinnati’s points...more

Preview:
A narrow loss last Sunday
night continued a disturbing
trend for the Philadelphia
Eagles, who keep coming up short
in close games. Surprisingly,
they may be able to learn
something from the lowly
Cincinnati Bengals. The Eagles
look to rebound from their
latest narrow defeat and make a
move in the NFC East on Sunday
when they visit the Bengals, who
pulled out a close victory in
their last game to snap their
season-opening eight-game skid.
Philadelphia (5-4) suffered a
36-31 home loss to the NFC
East-leading New York Giants on
Sunday night, falling to 1-9 in
games decided by less than a
touchdown over the last two
seasons, including 0-4 in
2008...more
Prediction: The Eagles have
a schedule break right now and a chance to get back into contention if they win
these next three, they get Baltimore, Arizona and the Giants the next three
weeks. Philadelphia cannot afford to look beyond the Bengals, who have played a
ton better than that 1-8 record would suggest (they took the Giants to the
wire). The Eagles should
bounce back on the road and take care of the Bengals. Look for a
good defensive effort and a win by Philadelphia this week. Eagles 34 - Bengals 20
