The Super Bowl champion New York Giants are running over
opponents. Not even Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens’ league-best rushing
defense could avoid becoming the latest victims.
Bruising Brandon Jacobs pounded his way into the end zone on a pair of 1-yard
runs and the Giants’ league-leading running attack ran for 207 yards— New York’s
third straight 200-yard game—in a 30-10 victory over the Ravens on Sunday.
Aaron Ross iced the game by returning one of his two interceptions 50 yards for
a third-quarter touchdown as the Giants (9-1) won their fifth straight game
overall, and sixth straight at home.
Lawrence Tynes added a short field goal after a 77-yard run by Ahmad Bradshaw
for the final score. Tynes got the nod over veteran John Carney, who was
inactive on the windy day despite leading the league with 90 points.
The Ravens came in allowing an average of 65.4 yards. The only good news was
they extended their streak of not allowing an individual 100-yard rusher to 29
games. Bradshaw finished with 96 yards on nine carries.
Rookie Joe Flacco threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Le’Ron McClain and Matt
Stover added a field goal for the Ravens (6-4), who had a four-game winning
streak snapped, including three straight on the road...more

Preview:
As reigning Super Bowl
champions, a four-game winning
streak by the New York Giants
could be expected. As a team
starting a rookie quarterback, a
four-game winning streak could
have been tougher to come by for
the Baltimore Ravens. Two of the
best teams of late, both seek a
fifth consecutive victory Sunday
when the Giants host the Ravens
at Giants Stadium. The Giants
(8-1), who are 5-0 at home, have
opened a two-game lead atop the
highly competitive NFC East on
the strength of a punishing
running game...
Prediction: Baltimore will
travel to the Giants home field Sunday and obviously have their work cut out for
them. The Ravens haven't beaten a team with a winning record. Not
only do they have five '07 playoff teams in their final seven
games, this is the first of four against the NFC East. The Giants are the NFC
front runner to make it back to the Super Bowl. The Giants won't suddenly get
gun-shy about trotting out the NFL's No. 1 rushing attack behind the league's
best offensive line. Plenty of defenses have talked a good
game about shutting down the weapon-rich run game of
the Giants, but no one has done it yet. New York will have to score to win this
game, the old adage that the Ravens are all defense and no offense is no longer
true, the Ravens averaged 33.5 points scored in their last four games. Giants 31 - Ravens 27

Giants are third. So you know what's coming, and that's a healthy dose of
Brandon Jacobs banging heads ...
