Titans beat Bears 21-14 to stay unbeaten

LenDale White and Chris Johnson kept getting hit for losses. The Tennessee Titans refused to take a bigger one, though, and now they’re 9-0.

Kerry Collins threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns, and the Titans beat the Chicago Bears 21-14 Sunday to remain undefeated despite rushing for just 20 yards.

That was just one more than their franchise-low, a stunning performance for a team that was third in the league entering the game. Even so, the Titans set a franchise record with their 12th straight regular-season win thanks to Collins and a defense that shut down Rex Grossman and the Bears.

Collins was 30-of-41 and did not throw an interception. Brandon Jones caught eight passes for 82 yards, and Bo Scaife had 10 for 78 with a touchdown.

That was enough to make up for a miserable performance by the running backs...more

Preview: The Tennessee Titans recognize that challenges remain, including playing a significant portion of their remaining schedule away from home. The Titans look to improve to 4-0 on the road for the first time in team history Sunday when they face a Chicago Bears team that could be without starting quarterback Kyle Orton. Tennessee (8-0) came away with a 19-16 overtime victory against Green Bay last Sunday, improving to 5-0 at home for the first time since 2003...more

Pick: The Titans were really tested last week, and showed the resolve that will be very necessary in the cold at Soldier Field this weekend. It seems to be getting harder and harder for the NFL's last remaining undefeated team to stay that way.  Two weeks ago they needed 17 points in the fourth quarter to beat the Colts and last week they had to resort to an overtime field goal to stay perfect after Rob Bironas missed a game-winning try in regulation. The Bears will make it interesting, but this is the season of the Titan, especially with Grossman quarterbacking the Bears
