Peterson gets redemption as he pushes Vikings past Packers
28-27
After Minnesota’s loss at Lambeau Field in the season opener,
Adrian Peterson declared this: He was sick of losing to Green Bay.
Ending the Vikings’ five-game losing streak to the Packers, Peterson rushed for
192 yards and reached across the end zone with 2:22 left to lift Minnesota to a
28-27 victory on Sunday.
Mason Crosby’s 52-yard field goal attempt in the closing seconds was just wide,
helping the Vikings (5-4) pull into a first-place tie with the Chicago Bears.
Green Bay (4-5) is one game back in the NFC North.
Peterson did his damage on 30 carries, including a 29-yard scamper through the
secondary to give Minnesota the lead and help the Vikings overcome three
interceptions by Gus Frerotte that the Packers turned into 17 points.
Coach Brad Childress unsuccessfully challenged the spot of a no gain on
third-and-1 midway through the fourth quarter. During the review, Peterson
stormed off the field and was yelling toward the coaches—assumedly to let him
take over. He fumbled on fourth down, and the recovery was short of the

The Aaron Rodgers era in
Green Bay got off to an
encouraging start with a win
over Minnesota in the season
opener, but the Packers have
struggled to find their rhythm
since. The Vikings have managed
to turn around a disappointing
start to the year thanks to the
play of 15-year veteran Gus
Frerotte. In an important NFC
North matchup, Rodgers and the
Packers try to bounce back from
a tough loss Sunday when they
visit Frerotte and the Vikings.

lot of offense on the field, but Jared Allen has a sprained shoulder and Aaron Rodgers and his new found riches are going to be too much for the
