The Redskins' defense thoroughly
smothered Jon Kitna and the
Lions and survived the loss of
another receiver to injury en
route to a convincing 34-3
victory Sunday.
QB Jason Campbell was sharp
in leading the Redskins on
several long TD drives. Campbell
connected with Antwaan Randle El
seven times for 100 yards before
the WR went down with a
hamstring injury at the end of
the second quarter and continued
to roll with his backup
receiving corps.
But the story of the day was
a punishing Washington defense
that sacked Kitna four times,
including one for a safety, and
returned an interception for a
score in holding the
high-scoring Lions offense
