 Matt Hasselbeck passed for 281 yards and two touchdowns, Alex Smith's day ended early with a punishing sack and the Seahawks claimed early supremacy in the NFC West with a 23-3 victory over the struggling 49ers on Sunday.

Smith was injured on a punishing sack on the third play of the game. Trent Dilfer replaced Smith, though with little success. Dilfer was 12-for-33 for 128 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions.
