Redskins crush Cowboys 27-6 to
enter playoffs on a hot streak

Postgame Recaps, Storylines,
and News |
The Redskins played like a team
that needed a victory to claim a
playoff spot. The Cowboys played
like a team with nothing to
gain. The result was a
ridiculously easy Redskins
victory, and a game that won't
exactly carry the Cowboys (13-3)
into the playoffs riding a wave
of momentum. Dallas was limited
to just two field goals, and
could manage only 1 yard
rushing.
Just weeks after attending
the funeral of slain defensive
back Sean Taylor, the Redskins
(9-7) removed any doubt
regarding their post-season fate
with their fourth consecutive
victory. They'll meet the
Seahawks in next week's wild
card playoffs...FULL

Preview: Since
Thanksgiving, the Washington
Redskins have seen their record
drop to 5-7, one of their best
defensive players murdered and
their quarterback suffer a
season-ending injury. But still,
with a win on Sunday at FedEx
Field against the rival Dallas
Cowboys, the Redskins can clinch
a playoff spot for just the
second time since the 1999
season. "After all we've been
through, we're still in
position," Washington running
back Clinton Portis said, "so we
have to finish it out...Full

REDSKINS: The Redskins
come into this game with all of
their weapons working for the
first time all season. Receivers
Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle
El both scored in the same game
for the first time in their two
years as Redskins last week.
Tight end Chris Cooley made his
team-leading eighth touchdown
catch. Running back Clinton
Portis ran one in and threw one.
And quarterback Todd Collins was
nearly flawless.
The Redskins caught a break
when Cowboys Pro Bowl receiver
Terrell Owens sprained an ankle
last week. Owens, who scored all
four Dallas touchdowns in the
28-23 victory over Washington on
Nov. 17, won't play this week,
making life easier for the pass
defense even if veteran
speedster Terry Glenn makes his
2007 debut for Dallas. And
Washington shut down Minnesota's
league-leading running attack
last week...FULL
