Pregame Previews, Storylines,
and News |
Preview: Earlier
this month, it was believed this
game could potentially be
Donovan McNabb's last in a
Philadelphia Eagles uniform.
That belief could be further
squashed if McNabb continues to
show he's still capable of being
their franchise quarterback.
Philadelphia closes a regular
season with McNabb under center
for the first time in four years
when it meets the Buffalo Bills
on Sunday in a matchup of teams
trying to finish at .500.
Injuries have prevented McNabb
from playing for Philadelphia
(7-8) in the last three
regular-season finales,
including a torn ACL that forced
him to miss the final six games
in 2006 and two playoff games...Full
StoryInside the Game Plans:
BILLS:
Rookie QB Trent Edwards will be
looking to shake off the worst
performance of his brief pro
career as he threw three
fourth-quarter interceptions,
two of which were returned for
TDs. The Bills need RB Marshawn
Lynch to get into a groove
against a stout Philadelphia
defense. If he struggles and the
Bills get into unfavorable
down-and-distance situations,
it's a recipe for disaster,
especially with LT Jason Peters
-- Buffalo's best offensive
lineman -- ruled out of the game
because of a groin injury...FULL

EAGLES:
Waving a rookie quarterback in
front of defensive coordinator
Jim Johnson is like waving a red
flag in front of a bull. Johnson
is expected to come heavy with
blitzes Sunday against the
Bills' Trent Edwards. The
strategy worked last week for
the Giants, who blitzed on 30 of
the Bills' 67 offensive plays.
They sacked Edwards three times
and forced three interceptions,
including two that were returned
for touchdowns in the fourth
quarter...FULL
