LaDainian Tomlinson took the NFL
rushing lead, and the Chargers
handled the Broncos on their way
to their fifth straight win, and
ninth win in 11 games.
Tomlinson finished with 19
carries for 107 yards and a
touchdown, his fourth straight
100-yard game. With the win, the
Chargers jumped the Steelers for
the third seed in the AFC
playoffs.
Jay Cutler struggled for the
Broncos, going 14-of-32 for 155
yards and two interceptions. He
did finish with three carries
for 42 yards, and was Denver's
leading rusher...FULL

Preview: The San
Diego
Chargers began to turn
around their season with a big
victory in Denver in the first
week of October. A win over the
Broncos this time will help
them move closer to a more
favorable seed in the playoffs.
Needing to win their final two
games to secure the No. 3 spot
in the AFC playoffs and the
chance to avoid New England
until the conference
championship game, the
Chargers go for their fifth
straight victory when they host
the
Broncos on Monday night...more
Inside the Game Plans:
BRONCOS: The Broncos
will have no chance if they
can't stop the run, no matter
who is carrying the ball for the
Chargers. Denver has had two
poor performances on run defense
in the last three weeks. The
Broncos gave up a 147-yard
performance to RB Michael Turner
in the first meeting with the
Chargers. Denver should be able
to handle San Diego's passing
game, especially with Chargers
TE Antonio Gates at less than
100 percent.
On offense, Denver will
continue to rely on QB Jay
Cutler. The Broncos would like
to get him more help than he had
last week, when the running game
was non-existent against
Houston, but ultimately most of
the offensive load will fall on
Cutler...FULL
STORY
CHARGERS: The Chargers
will make the Broncos' leaky run
defense prove it can stop the
NFL's seventh-ranked run
offense. If they can get the
running game going, that will
take pressure off Philip Rivers,
who is still slowed by a
sprained knee. The Chargers
don't want to stress that knee,
or Rivers, and would prefer
going the sure-fire route with
LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren
Sproles -- both had 100-yard
rushing games last week...FULL
