Starting their fourth-string
quarterback, the Panthers could
be excused for the scoreboard
reading 0-0 after three quarters
against the Seahawks. But how
could playoff-bound Seattle
explain such ineptitude? By
continuing it into the fourth
quarter.
In his first NFL start,
rookie QB Matt Moore led
Carolina on three fourth-quarter
scoring drives and finished with
208 yards passing to outlast the
Seahawks on a windy afternoon in
Charlotte. DeAngelo Williams
aided the cause with a 35-yard
scoring run that sealed the
victory.
Seattle QB Matt Hasselbeck
threw for 274 yards but couldn't
find the end zone until the
final second of the game. He was
sacked three times and got just
33 yards of run support from an
anemic ground game...FULL

SEAHAWKS: With the
Panthers getting to the
quarterback only 16 times this
season, it would seem to be
license for Matt Hasselbeck to
sit back in the pocket and rifle
balls to his receivers, as he
did last week against Arizona.
At the same time, the Panthers
have the 30th-ranked pass
defense in the NFL, which would
tempt the Seahawks to stack
eight in the box, send blitzes
at 44-year-old Vinny Testaverde
and prevent DeShaun Foster from
beating them on the ground...FULL

PANTHERS:
The Panthers need to generate
some offense in any way
possible, but unfortunately for
them, that is easier said than
done. Carolina has become one of
the worst offensive teams in the
league and the defense is
spending too much time on the
field. The defense has to be
getting frustrated with the
offense's inability to move the
football. The defense tends to
shut it down in the second half
in part because they've given up
hope that the offense is going
to help them at all...FULL
