For three quarters Sunday, the
Titans defense pushed around the
Chargers' high-powered offense,
sacking quarterback Philip
Rivers five times and forcing
three interceptions.
Nobody in the stadium thought
the Titan's 17-3 lead was in
danger. Except for the Chargers,
who scored two touchdowns in the
fourth quarter and one in
overtime on a 16-yard run by
LaDanian Tomlinson to win 23-17.
Tennessee (7-6) had a chance
to run out the clock, but gave
the ball back to San Diego with
2:24 left in regulation and went
three-and-out in overtime. It
was the third straight win and
seventh in nine game for the
Chargers (8-5), who would clinch
their second straight AFC West
title with a Denver loss.
Tomlinson rushed for 146
yards and a touchdown and caught
a TD pass, while the Titans'
LenDale White ran for 113 yards
and a touchdown.

CHARGERS: Time for QB
Philip Rivers to have a game he
can hang his hat on. While the
Chargers needed only 10
completions from him in last
week's win when relying on the
running game, the sledding
figures to be tougher this week.
With DT Albert Haynesworth back
wrecking havoc in the middle,
the Titans probably will live up
to their No. 7 ranking in
stopping the run. So turn to
Rivers, after an early dose of
LaDainian Tomlinson. Go with the
play-action for the deep balls
to Chris Chambers and Vincent
Jackson, and get Antonio Gates
more involved after a Sunday
showing of just one catch...FULL

TITANS:
The Titans have a tall order,
because their typical formula --
stop the run, put the game on
the quarterback and hit him
often -- will be tough to pull
off against the Chargers. RB
LaDainian Tomlinson has fared
well against them in the past,
with three touchdowns in two
games, and he's a good receiver
as well as a passing threat. On
offense, the Titans will hope to
pound it with LenDale White,
Chris Brown and Vince Young
establishing a ground attack and
hope it opens up some room for
Young to throw. Look for him to
try to find WR Justin Gage,
who's emerging as the team's
most dependable and dangerous
option...FULL
