The Redskins leaned on backup QB
Todd Collins to beat the Bears
after starter Jason Campbell
left with a dislocated left
kneecap.
Collins, who last completed a
pass in 2004, threw two
touchdowns to help Washington
stay in the playoff hunt.
Rex Grossman never returned
from a left knee injury on
Chicago's second possession.
Brian Griese came in for
Grossman and went 21-for-45 for
295 yards and one TD, but he
also threw his 12th interception
in seven games.

BEARS:
Considering the Bears' struggles
in stopping the run and Clinton
Portis' past success against
them, the priority has to be run
defense, where the Bears are No.
27 in yards and No. 28 in
average gain allowed.
If last week was any
indication, the Bears have given
up on the idea that they can run
the ball successfully,
especially now that Cedric
Benson is on injured reserve.
However, with an offensive line
that can't keep pressure off QB
Rex Grossman, the Bears don't
have much choice but to continue
trying to run the ball. Since
Grossman has been sacked 14
times in his past three starts,
the Bears aren't ideally
equipped to call 52 pass plays,
as they did last week...FULL

REDSKINS: Both teams are
coming off tough losses. The
Redskins lost a 16-8 fourth
quarter lead at home against
Buffalo to fall to 5-7. The
Bears lost a 16-7 fourth quarter
lead at home against the New
York Giants to fall to 5-7.
However, while the Bears will be
on the road, the Redskins had to
fly back and forth to Miami on
Monday for teammate Sean
Taylor's funeral. His shooting
and death last week still has
them reeling.
Chicago's defense, so strong
during its NFC title run of
2006, has sunk to the bottom
quarter of the league. Since
Washington has been having more
luck throwing than running of
late, look for the Redskins to
try to keep things going in the
air...FULL
