The Tampa Bay defense forced six
Redskins turnovers and the
Buccaneers overcame a back
injury to starting quarterback
Jeff Garcia and held on for a
hard-fought home victory.
Defensive back Brian Kelly
intercepted a Jason Campbell
pass in the end zone with 17
seconds to play to preserve the
win for the Bucs (7-4), who were
limited to just 16 yards in
total offense in the second
half.
Garcia was injured on the
opening possession of the game.
He remained on the sideline
until midway through the second
half, but his return did little
to spark the Tampa offense. But
the Buccaneers scored 19 points
in the first half, taking
advantage of four Redskins
turnovers, including two fumbles
by running back Clinton Portis.

REDSKINS: After
consecutive strong games by QB
Jason Campbell and the passing
attack and a big drop-off by the
running attack last week, you'd
think that the Redskins would be
looking to throw Sunday. Think
again. Coach Joe Gibbs remains
committed to the run even though
the Bucs shut down Clinton
Portis in the 2005 playoff game
and Ladell Betts when Portis was
hurt last year. The Bucs have
been somewhat more vulnerable
against the run than the pass

BUCCANEERS: The Redskins
have to re-establish some
balance in their offense after
filling the sky with footballs
last week at Dallas. QB Jason
Campbell is much improved from
his first NFL start a year ago
in Tampa Bay, but he'll need
some help from RBs Clinton
Portis and Ladell Betts. Running
the football is the best way to
slow down the Bucs pass rush,
which produced five sacks and
four turnovers last week at
Atlanta.
Defensively, the Bucs have
stepped it up, particularly with
their pass rush. Gaines Adams
and Greg White are making splash
plays, and the secondary is
benefiting from the pressure...more
