Justin Vargas rushed for 139 yards, including a 14-yard scoring run with 9:34 remaining that turned out to be the game-winner, as the Raiders ended a streak of nine consecutive losses to the Chiefs and 17 successive defeats to AFC West foes.

The Raiders hadn't beaten anybody in their division since a 25-24 squeaker over Denver on Nov. 28, 2004, the longest ongoing streak of divisional futility in the NFL.

The Kansas City Chiefs are mired in a three-game losing streak, and their first-string quarterback and running back have one NFL start between them. A home game against the lowly Oakland Raiders appears to have come along at just the right time. Kansas City looks to sweep the season series from the Raiders for the fifth straight time when they meet Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.
