On a day when the Jets honored
Curtis Martin, the team played a
game their former running back
could be proud of.
Thomas Jones became the first
running back in nearly two years
to rush for 100 yards against
the Steelers and the Jets
defense made like Pittsburgh's,
sacking Ben Roethlisberger seven
times in a 19-16 overtime win.
A 48-yard field goal by Jeff
Reed, his third of the game,
gave the Steelers (7-3) their
first lead at 16-13 with 8:41
remaining.
But the Jets (2-8) rallied
behind quarterback Kellen
Clemens, capping a 76-yard drive
with Mike Nugent's 28-yard field
goal with 23 seconds left to
force overtime. Nugent's
game-winning kick came from 38
yards away.
