Washington Redskins 2008 NFL Draft and
Free Agency Team Needs
The top needs for the Redskins to fill
in the upcoming draft and free agency.
Offensive Line: left
guard Pete Kendall will be 35 this year and right guard Randy Thomas, 32,
finished 2005 and 2007 on injured reserve, so they really must find at least
one or two players to groom who can back up both and replace them in the
next couple of years.
Defensive End: Andre
Carter has turned out to be a good free agent signing, but Phillip Daniels
is 35 years old and there is basically little or no quality depth and and
left tackle Cornelius Griffin is also 30 so they need to start grooming a
replacement for him.
Wide Receivers:
The Redskins must bring in a bigger, more physical wideout to complement
starters Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle El who are both under 5-10 and in
the West Coast offense they are switching too, it is a must.
Defensive Back: Shawn
Springs may be a cap casualty which will create depth issues at cornerback
while the unfortunate and tragic death of Pro Bowler Sean Taylor so now they
also need a playmaking hard-hitting safety to step in
Punter - Derrick Frost
had one of the lowest averages per punt in the league, but its not really a
priority.
