St. Louis Rams Team Needs - 2007 NFL Draft and Free Agency
 Sponsors

Linebacker - Will Witherspoon has been a force, just as the Rams had hoped when they signed him in the 2006 offseason. But Dexter Coakley and Brandon Chillar have played like crap Coakley has played decently at times, but not consistently. Plus, Coakley has registered in the box-score in just seven games and he’ll turn thirty-five during the 2007 season. They could really use a linebacker along the lines of Patrick Willis.

Defensive Line - With Leonard Little turning thirty-three next season, and Adeyanju’s lack of production the Rams need to add depth, and maybe also upgrade one of the starting positions by tapping into the free agent market or spending a mid-round draft on an end with athletic ability. In the middle, La'Roi Glover is still a good player, but a replacement needs to be found. Former 1st rounder Jimmy Kennedy is nothing special.

Cornerback - Tye Hill will be a fine player, but I wouldn't have Fakhir Brown as my corner in division II They need to upgrade the other side badly.

Offensive Line - Adam Timmerman is getting up there in age, and center Richie Incognito is questionable. When Pace went down it destroyed the Ram's playoff hopes. St. Louis needs to bring in at least one starter and some depth.

Wide Receiver - With Kevin Curtis set to hit the free agent market and starters Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt both in their thirties, the team will need to look at bringing some more youth to the position

St. Louis Rams Free Agency Notes:

The Rams need to address their line, Leonard Little was the only proven pass rusher last year.

At wide receiver depth may be an issue, after veterans Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce if Curtis, the No. 3 at his position last year, leaves.

Steven Jackson had a breakout year at running back, but there's little depth at the position. Rams addressed two areas of need during season, signing Little and LB Pisa Tinoisamoa to extensions

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: LB Brandon Chillar; TE Aaron Walker; OL Adam Goldberg; S Dwaine Carpenter; OL Larry Turner
