Safety - Terrence Kiel
is simply not a good player. A
playmaker at strong safety is
the final thing this defense
needs to become elite.
Inside Linebacker -
Donnie Edwards will likely be
gone this off-season, and
Randall Godfrey is near the end
of his career. A speedy middle
linebacker would be a nice
addition to the rotation.
Offensive Line - Depth in
the middle of the offensive line
is currently lacking.
Behind
starting guards Kris Dielman and
Mike Goff, there isn’t much in
terms of talent or quality
support..
Wide Receiver - San Diego
currently has a solid corps
group, but could use a speedy
player to stretch the field.
Keenan
McCardell, Eric Parker, Vincent
Jackson, Malcom Floyd, and
Kassim Osgood make for a fairly
good group, but with McCardell
turning thirty-seven shortly,
the team could look to bring in
another talent.
Defensive Tackle - Jamal
Williams is the best in the
business, but the Chargers have
no big guy behind him
San
Diego Chargers Free Agency
Notes:
It looks like Kris Dielman
will test the market, and if he
leaves, it will be a big blow to
a line that helped spring
LaDainian Tomlinson to his MVP
season. It wasn't just
coincidence that Tomlinson ran a
lot to the left side, where
Dielman helped open big holes.
The Chargers have locked up a
lot of young talent to long-term
deals, though. Chargers also
could be in market for a wide
receiver, safety and linebackers
