New York Giants Team Needs - 2007 NFL Draft and Free Agency
 Sponsors

Defensive Backs - Sam Madison is old and injury prone, and after him there are a lot of question marks in the Giants' defensive backfield. An impact safety would also be a nice addition - neither Will Demps or Gibril Wilson are special.

Wide Receiver - Plaxico Burress is disgruntled, and though Sinorice Moss might be a nice #3 receiver, another starter is needed. If Amani Toomer is back, he’ll be 32 and returning from injury.

Running Back - With Tiki Barber retiring, Brandon Jacobs figures to take over. Can Brandon Jacobs carry the load as the number one back?  Adding a back to complement him should be a priority, as there's some question whether he can be effective on an every-down basis.

Outside Linebacker - The Giants can never seem to stay healthy at the outside linebacker position, so might as well add some young depth to help when guys get hurt

Offensive Line - Luke Petitgout will be coming off of a severe injury next season, and his current replacement Bob Whitfield is in his mid-thirties. An improvement can probably be made over Kareem McKenzie on the other side, but the team will look to add legitimate depth at the very least.

New York Giants Free Agency Notes:

Making playoffs with an 8-8 record, having Tiki Barber retire and then releasing OT Luke Petitgout and LBs LaVar Arrington and Carlos Emmons mean the Giants need help in all those areas. The season-ending knee injury to WR Amani Toomer and the inconsistent play of Plaxico Burress showed the team needs another wideout as well.

CBs Sam Madison and Corey Webster need improvement, and there was no depth at DT behind Fred Robbins and Barry Cofield. If Feely and O'Hara take free agency road, two more positions have to be filled. New GM Jerry Reese is going to earn his pay this year

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: PK Jay Feely; C Shaun O'Hara; G Grey Ruegamer; LB Brandon Short; OLs Steve Edwards and Lewis Kelly; TE Visanthe Shiancoe; CB Frank Walker.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: S Gibril Wilson; LB Reggie Torbor; RB Derrick Ward
