Green Bay Packers Team Needs - 2007 NFL Draft and Free Agency
 Sponsors

Cornerback - The Packers have arguably the two best corners in the league, but after that there is a huge dropoff. They can be very exposed in nickel and dime packages. With both starting cornerbacks in their thirties, the Pack will need to add youth in the secondary with an eye on the future

Running Back - Ahman Green has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence, but he's on his last legs and Green Bay has no young quality backs behind him. Although the team would love to have him back, they aren't going to break the bank to do so. The team could look for a back early in the draft to set themselves up for the future.

Outside Linebacker - A.J. Hawk and Nick Barnett make up 2/3 of a great linebacking corps; now it's just a matter of finding the third guy.

Defensive End - Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila's big contract has killed the Packers. If he was the player they thought he was, he and Kampman would make great bookend pass rushers, but he has not lived up to his contract and the team needs a rusher to replace him.

Tight End - Bubba Franks is way overpaid and he may find himself on the chopping block. David Martin was beginning to establish himself but a rib injury kept him out of several games and now he's an unrestricted free agent

Wide Receiver - Depending on what happens at running back, the Packers could be throwing the ball a ton this year and they will need more depth. They added a lot of young guys last year, but still could use some more depth.

Green Bay Packers Free Agency Notes:

The Packers need playmakers in the passing game. The Packers didn't get productivity they were looking for out of tight ends last year particularly in the red zone and need another productive WR to take some defensive focus off Donald Driver.

They also must decide whether to give Green a multiyear deal or move forward with backup RB Vernand Morency and possibly address the position in the draft.

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: RB Ahman Green; TE David Martin; LBs Ben Taylor and Tracy White; DT Kenderick Allen; QB Todd Bouman; OL Tyson Walter.

RESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: None
