Denver Broncos Team Needs - 2007 NFL Draft and Free Agency
 Sponsors

Defensive Line - Despite making improvements , the Broncos are still having trouble getting any kind of push from the middle. Gerard Warren and Michael Myers are average players at best. a big body that can get to the quarterback would bolster the defensive effort. There should be decent draft depth at this position—Alan Branch, Gaines Adams, DeMarcus Tyler, Quinn Pitcock included—so if Denver decides to wait on a safety, their first-round pick could be spent here

Safety - Dominique Foxworth has had a rocky transition to safety, and John Lynch is slowing down. Lynch may not be at a top level much longer, and the team will consider this when making their offseason decisions

Offensive Line - Denver's offensive line hasn't been quite as dominant as usual, and some depth at tackle could help

Cornerback - The loss of Darrent Williams was a big blow to the team in many ways. They will need to replace him immediately because they are thin and old in the secondary

Wide Receiver - Rod Smith only has a year or two left in his tank and another weapon will help with their young QB's development.

Running Back - No clear cut number one and last year proved that for all Shanahan's genius he can't just drop anyone in there.

Denver Broncos Free Agency Notes:

The Broncos need line help on both sides of the ball. They lost former No. 1 overall draft pick Courtney Brown to a knee injury in training camp and the pass rush never measured up. They also need to start thinking about safety, where John Lynch and Nick Ferguson are approaching old-timer status in the NFL. And the tragic death of Darrent Williams means they might have to look at cornerback for backups, with Domonique Foxworth moving up to take the starter's job. They also need help at running back, where the duo of Mike Bell and Tatum Bell never clicked, and at wide receiver, where age quickly caught up to Rod Smith, their career receptions leader

UNRESTRICTED FREE AGENTS: G Cooper Carlisle; DT Michael Myers; LB Keith Burns; DE Patrick Chukwurah; DL Kenny Peterson; KR-WR Quincy Morgan
