Offensive Line - While
the line started coming together
as the season went on, the Bills
could still use an upgrade in
the interior of their line.
Buffalo still hasn't adequately
recovered from the Mike Williams
debacle, but they might be
rolling the dice again in the
first round for an offensive
tackle. Once free agency hits,
both starting spots might need
to be filled.
Tight End - Buffalo has
gotten virtually zero production
from their tight ends, and it's
time to bring in someone who can
make an impact.
Wide Receiver - Peerless
Price is
30 years old, and his production
is tailing off. A truly talented
receiver would take defensive
attention from Lee Evans and
give quarterback J.P. Losman
another important weapon.
Outside Linebacker -
Takeo Spikes is aging a bit, but
the real concern is the opposite
outside linebacker spot
Quarterback
-
J.P. Losman may be given another
year to develop, but his play
has run lukewarm and cold, with
a few big games sprinkled into
the mix. There’s potential
there, but the team might not
want to wait much longer for
that potential to become
consistency.
Buffalo Bills Free Agency
Notes:
With a modest budget and
major needs the Bills must fill
some potentially gaping holes to
build off of their 7-9 finish.
Unable to afford Clements' high
asking price, the Bills must
find a capable starting
cornerback and hope Ashton
Youboty develops after the 2006
third-round draft pick appeared
in just three games. Linebacker
might become another big need
for defense that finished 28th
against the run. Fletcher is
expected to test the market, and
the Bills haven't yet determined
whether to keep Takeo Spikes,
who struggled while coming back
from torn Achilles' tendon. RB
could suddenly become an issue
as Buffalo considers trade
offers for Willis McGahee.
