There was JaMarcus
Russell's expected crowning at No. 1, the Lions braintrust landing
another 1st round receiver and Brady Quinn's completely unexpected,
yet very well ending freefall. Now, the 2007 draft is history and
its time to see what it all meant.
:
Levi
Brown will be a great player. The move
up to get defensive tackle Alan Branch
at the top of the second round was a
shrewd gamble he dominates when properly
motivated....more
:
Nine
picks and Darrell Jackson make for a
very good draft haul. Nabbing Jackson
was a major score, giving the 49ers a
player with the ability to be a No. 1
wideout....more
:
No
first rounder and no great playmaker or
difference maker I just don't think
Deion Branch is a first round player
even if you count him in this draft....more
:
They
gave up a third-round pick to move up
four spots to take Florida defensive end
Jarvis Moss. Moss had a lot of
detractors because he's a little stiff for an end.....more
:
The Chiefs have done one thing since Herm Edwards came over. That is to select
real football players. You don't draw them up much better than Bowe when it
comes to size-speed guys at wide receiver....more
:
Quarterback JaMarcus Russell is a
wonderful physical talent, far and away
the most gifted passer the league has
seen in years.
Running back Michael Bush, the first
player taken on the second day, will be
a star....more
:
Craig Davis is a serious burner who gives the Chargers an immediate deep threat.
The Chargers took a lot of criticism for giving up so much to move up and grab
Eric Weddle, but he has first round talent and he instantly fills a huge hole
for the Chargers...more

Each and every
prospect can be tested in the
40 yard dash, although each
and every prospect can deny
to be tested. The 40 yard dash
is a test of speed, power, explosion,
and a little bit of conditioning.
Each prospect will be measured
by the second and how long it
takes you to complete a 40 yard
sprint. The 40 yard dash will
also be timed for 10 yard and
20 yard splits to test explosion.
The Drill: From a three-point
stance, a player runs 40 yards
as fast as he can. He is timed
at three increments: 10, 20
and 40 yards. The 10-yard time
is especially important for
offensive and defensive linemen
because they usually don't run
farther than that during a play.
Players get hand-held times
(by scouts using stopwatches)
and electronic times (recorded
by a machine using a beam).
What it tests: Pure speed from
Point A to Point B under ideal
conditions (indoors, AstroTurf,
no weather obstacles).
Most people don't know about Will Ferrell's second job as a strength and
conditioning coach. Here Will prepares USC's Ryan Kalil for the draft.

players will have the biggest impact?

look at the best offensive players in this years draft as well as those who may
drop to the second round
This is shaping up to be a very strong draft class.
Brady Quinn was everyone's consensus number one, but he has fallen down quite a
few boards due to his late season play. On the other hand Troy Smith is moving
up due to his strong play, but no one is moving and drawing the amount of
attention that JaMarcus Russell has. We are a few weeks ahead from our first
mock draft, but here is a newly updated top 32 ranking....more

Sleepers - Often we come across players who may not be the most
talked about in the draft, yet they have that special something that we can't
really name. They are known as sleepers, the GM's and scouts that do their
homework find a few of them every now and again and we want to highlight a few
of them from time to time for you.
On the eve of a potential grudge match between Pittsburgh and Boston, the National Hockey League was provided another senseless illustration of head-hunting that momentarily left ...
