Tennessee Titans Draft Recap - 2007 NFL Draft
Michael Griffin is a terrific strong safety, which the Titans need, but taking strong safeties in the first round is not always a great value choice. Robert Meachem would have been a better choice given the Titans current needs. Third-round pick Paul Williams has big-time speed, but its a tough transition to the NFL for receivers beyond the very top tier.

Overall Grade: D+

1 19 Michael Griffin FS Texas
 Analysis
He should provide some solid help, especially in run support. He has good coverage skills, but he still has plenty to learn and doesn't always show the greatest instincts. That said a strong safety this early when you really need a WR? With all those receivers still on the board? All that said if you can get an Ed Reed clone wouldn't you?

Overall Value: 2  Pick Value: 6  Bust factor: 3

2 50 Chris Henry RB Arizona
 Analysis
This is a horrible pick for this early. It's a complete gamble. You're betting on potential here. He was impressive in workouts, but there's not a lot of game tape on him. High risk, high reward.

3 80 Paul Williams WR Fresno State
 Analysis
He's 6-1 1/4, 205 and he ran a 4.44. But really he had only 21 catches last season. He wont make fans forget they could have had Meachem.

4 115 Leroy Harris C North Carolina State
 Analysis
Harris, if he were anything but a center, would have gone a round earlier. This is a very, very solid player.

4 128 Chris Davis WR Florida State
 Analysis
Davis is a real good route runner who had good but not great production. He will be a very dependable receiver for the Titans, but never a No. 1 receiver.

5 152 Antonio Johnson DT Mississippi State
Analysis
A one-gap penetrator. He had five sacks and seven tackles for loss. He probably shouldn’t have gone pro early. But with a team with a four-man front, he will find his way into the rotation.

6 188 Joel Filani WR Texas Tech
 Analysis
He’s a possession type of receiver. He has 4.57 speed. 91 catches last year with 13 touchdowns.

6 204 Jacob Ford DE Central Arkansas
 Analysis
The Titans might use this guy as linebacker with his 4.64 speed. He can rush the passer.

6 206 Ryan Smith CB Florida
 Analysis
He’s kind of an undersized corner (5-10, 168) who has 4.51 speed.

7 223 Michael Otto OT Purdue
 Analysis
He's 6-5, 308 and ran 5.16. He played LT there but I don't think he'll be LT in NFL.
