St. Louis Rams Draft Recap - 2007 NFL Draft
Adam Carriker wasn't the flashiest of this year's defensive ends but probably is the safest bet to become a solid starter.  Running back Brian Leonard is a quality pick in the second round because of his versatility as a blocker, runner and receiver and he should provide them a good inside runner, but, adding depth at cornerback seemed like a better move. Cornerback Jonathan Wade in the third finally addressed that need, but he's a risky player who could take a while to develop.

Overall Grade: C

Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
1 13 Adam Carriker DE Nebraska
 Analysis
The Rams absolutely had to get some help for their defensive line. Carriker will bring plenty of talent, but his bigger contribution could very well be his toughness and competitiveness. Carriker can really get after the QB and has the size (6" 6" 290 lbs.) to stop the run

Overall Value: 2  Pick Value: 2  Bust factor: 2

2 52 Brian Leonard FB Rutgers
 Analysis
He can excel in a one-back system like the Rams use. He can do so much on the offensive side of the ball. He can play every position except O-line and QB

3 84 Jonathan Wade CB Tennessee
 Analysis
Wade has blazing speed (4.36) and nice size (5' 11" 193 lbs). A developmental guy that is a little raw with his technique. With patience he could be special

5 154 Clifton Ryan DT Michigan State
 Analysis
He’s a utility D-lineman who will give you effort every time. If he gets a starting job, he will never lose it.

6 190 Ken Shackleford OT Georgia
 Analysis
A huge man with long arms and 5.3 speed. He probably will be a right tackle in the NFL, especially if he takes to an NFL weight program.

7 248 Keith Jackson DT Arkansas
 Analysis
His dad is a 6-time Pro Bowler (TE Keith Jackson) who was a former 1st-round pick of Philly from Oklahoma. This is a DT with good strength (6-4, 305 pounds, 5.05). He's very strong inside against the run.

7 249 Derek Stanley WR Wisconsin-Whitewater
 Analysis
He's 5-9 7/8 and 172 pounds and ran a 4.34. He's a receiver and a real good return man.
