Quarterback JaMarcus Russell is a
wonderful physical talent, far and away
the most gifted passer the league has
seen in years.
Running back Michael Bush, the first
player taken on the second day, will be
a star. As for the rest of the
draft, the Raiders got a lot of players
who have star potential, such as
defensive end Quentin Moses, who had a
first-round grade on him going into last
season before dropping down the board.
Mario Henderson is a terrific left
tackle prospect. Getting Zach
Miller was nice, especially since the
Raiders were able to trade down and
still get him. I hate to say this but
this is a very nice draft class. It will
take a year or three, but the Raiders
will be back with a vengeance very soon.
They are getting loaded up.
The mark of
a good
quarterback
is to be
able to
bring his
team from
behind to
win games,
and JaMarcus
was great at
that at LSU.
Russell is
going to be
a great QB,
it's a shame
his first
few years
will be such
a struggle.
He's a big,
athletic
target who
is better
with the
short and
intermediate
routes. He
will have
some trouble
separating
from speedy
linebackers
in the NFL
Henderson is
a big, tall
(6-6 1/2)
offensive
tackle who
needs to
improve his
strength.
He’s a
developmental
player, but
even he will
be able to
compete for
a starting
spot on a
poor Raider
line
Would have
been a late
second
rounder, but
teams were
scared off
due to his
broken
leg suffered in
the second
game of the
2006 season.
If he can
stay
healthy,
he’s a great
choice.
