Houston Texans Draft Recap - 2007 NFL Draft
When you grade the Texans you have to look at more than just this day. You have to factor in that the Texans essentially got quarterback Matt Schaub in this draft and then got the top defensive tackle with the No. 10 overall pick, and got some athletes and developmental players to go along with Schaub and Okoye. That's a nice draft.

Overall Grade: B+

Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
1 10 Amobi Okoye DT Louisville
 Analysis
The Texans are continuing to build the defense the right way, from the front line back. Okoye should be a disruptive force and get consistent penetration to free up Mario Williams. Young, big and lightening quick it's amazing to think he is only 19 and was a 4 year college starter.

Overall Value: 2  Pick Value: 2  Bust factor: 4

Countdown to Draft Day 2007 video breakdown of Amobi Okoye  ----->

Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
3 73 Jacoby Jones WR Lane
 Analysis
Jones is a developmental guy with a lot of upside, confidence and good game speed. High risk, high reward.
Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
4 123 Fred Bennett CB South Carolina
 Analysis
Not blazing speed (4.48) but very sound fundamentally. Always in position to make a play on the ball. He has good size and could push for a nickel job as a rookie. A real steal at this point.
Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
5 144 Brandon Harrison SS Stanford
 Analysis
A big guy (6-2, 230; 4.6 speed) who had been a three-year starter at Stanford.
Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
5 163 Brandon Frye OT Virginia Tech
 Analysis
A pretty strong guy who was a one-year starter at Virginia Tech. You just have to have these guys around to develop. Offensive line just you have to take your shots and hope for the best.
Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
6 183 Kasey Studdard G Texas
 Analysis
Studdard is a talented kid, athletic and plays with a mean streak.
Rd Sel# Player Pos. School
7 218 Zach Diles ILB Kansas State
 Analysis
An inside linebacker but will probably be an outstanding special teams player.
