They
gave up a third-round pick to move up
four spots to take Florida defensive end
Jarvis Moss. Moss had a lot of
detractors because he's a little stiff
for an end. Still, he has the quickness
to be a factor in the pass rush right
away. Marcus Thomas is an outstanding
risk to take in the fourth round. He had
a problem with marijuana in college, but
several defensive line coaches around
the NFL said he was the second-best
defensive-tackle talent in this draft
behind Amobi Okoye. Overall,
they needed help on their defensive line
and they added three good players,
counting end Tim Crowder but you are not
going to succeed long in the NFL with
drafts like this. You just need more
than three players per draft class.
Pure speed
rusher. It's
no secret
Denver has
wanted one.
Moss (6' 6"
250 lbs.)
can really
rush the
passer. Moss
has the
versatility
to play in
the 34 or 43
style of
defense
If Crowder
picks up his
intensity he
could be
special.
Last year he
was All Big
12 defensive
end
finishing
with 58
tackles, 19
tackles for
a loss and
10.5 sacks
He's a very
fast athlete
who has done
well, but
not quite as
well you
think he
should do
when you see
his stats.
This junior
got kicked
off the
Gator team,
so he has
character
concerns,
but he has
1st round
talent.
Quick and
powerful at
6' 3" 296
lbs.
He was
suspended
twice for
substance
abuse. Had
he not been
suspended,
he would
have been a
top-20 pick.
If he can
stay out of
trouble,
Denver will
have made a
great
choice.
