Dallas
had on the traders hat this year. Dallas
slid back four spots in the first round,
from 22 to 26, and gave up a third- and
fifth-round pick for Cleveland's
first-rounder next year which was a
tremendous value. In the players they
did take, there are some hits and
misses. Really dragging the grade down
is the two 7th round cornerbacks, they
are both decent players, but not NFL
ready and that was an area that really
needed to be addressed. They did get a
steal in Doug Free and the developmental
players they got are very good. Plus the
moves into next years draft should be a
big plus. Most of the players are
special teams contributors which will
help most make the roster, but really
this draft was light on impact players.
Would be a C if not for the first
rounder next year.

Analysis
93 tackles,
26.5 tackles for a loss,
10.5 sacks, and 5 forced
fumbles last year. You can't
argue with that production,
or these combine numbers - 525 pounds on
the bench press, 610 pounds
on the squat, 365 pounds
power clean. This guy is
NFL-ready now. The real
question is where to put
him. Carpenter will almost
certainly be moved to the
inside now. This should make
Dallas' Linebacker corps the
best in the NFL within a
year or two.

James Marten
OT
Boston College
Analysis
Marten looked really good at the
Combine. He won't
start this year, but he's a
good project. He ran a 5.08
forty at the combine

Isaiah Stanback
QB
Washington
Analysis
Stanback (6-2, 216) could be
a super player. He Played QB
his senior year. The Cowboys
will expect him to make the
transition to wideout. This
is to early to draft such a
long range developmental
project.

Doug Free
OT
Northern Illinois
Analysis
What a steal,
last year at this point Free
was rated higher than Joe
Staley.
Free was a top 100 player so
he is a good value at 122
and would have been a top 50
had he stayed healthy. He has been a
four-year starter (more than
45 games). There are some
questions about his
strength as he is a
converted tight end, but he
is very athletic. He is
nicknamed Doug Freak.

Nick Folk
K
Arizona
Analysis
Folk may not
be the absolute best
placekicker, Justin Medlock
was better but KC got him in
round 5, but he can punt and
place kick. He prefers to
only place kick, but he’s a
guy who can fill two
positions with one roster
spot if you have to which is
a huge advantage in today's
53 man roster

Deon Anderson
FB
Connecticut
Analysis
The Cowboys
entered the draft without a
real fullback on their
roster, Deon is a converted
defensive end, but he is a
very aggressive lead blocker
and he can catch the ball.
Another big plus is he loves
to play special teams.

Courtney Brown

Cal Poly
Analysis
A workout
warrior, who ran very fast
(4.5) at the combine and he
also has a great vertical
jump and very good
three-cone drill.
Brown has the speed to make
the team and eventually help
out in the nickel.

skills.
