St. Louis Rams Draft Recap - 2006 NFL Draft
The Rams go for quantity and projects this year. The CB is a position of need, but Tye Hill does not have the height to be a number one CB. Klopfenstein has all the measureables but is not an elite player then they took Byrd at pick 93 for some unknown reason.

Overall Grade: C- for quantity when picking projects like these some may pan out with this many to choose from. Otherwise it could be the worst draft in years for any team.

Sel# Player Pos. Ht. Wt. School
15 Hill, Tye CB 5-9 186 Clemson
Hill's size will give a few teams some caution, but he makes up for what he lacks in height with quickness and aggression. Hill is still a little raw at the position, especially in zone coverage. His speed and quickness make up for his deficiencies on the college level, but he will need good coaching to further develop....more
46 Klopfenstein, Joe TE 6-6 256 Colorado
May never rank amongst the elite tight ends in the league as he is not quick or explosive. However he will work hard and can be in the second tier of starting tight ends...more
68 Wroten, Claude DT 6-2 303 Louisiana State
Plays hard, and finished his collegiate career with 12 sacks and 21.5 tackles for loss. An arrest for marijuana possession that cost him an invite to the Senior Bowl was dismissed, and is the only blemish on his off-field record. The only real concern is a lack of ideal size at just under 6-2...more
77 Alston, Jon OLB 6-1 224 Stanford
A good athlete with the agility, quick feet and flexibility to move and make plays well out in space
93 Byrd, Dominique TE 6-2 256 Southern California
Byrd is consistently productive in nearly all the aspects of the position, but lacks the quickness, explosiveness and playing speed to be an impact player.
113 Adeyanju, Victor DE 6-4 275 Indiana
Adeyanju has all the athletic tools to be very productive in all areas, but he is pretty much a one-dimensional player who makes nearly all his plays against the run
144 Hagans, Marques WR 5-9 202 Virginia
He was a quarterback at Virginia. He can be a jack of all trades in the NFL, and an outstanding return man. He can be a No. 3 WR
221 McGarigle, Tim ILB 6-0 241 Northwestern
McGarigle has all the mental tools that you want in a middle linebacker, but he lacks the desired size and athleticism
242 Setterstrom, Mark G 6-4 315 Minnesota
He is a smart, tough offensive lineman who consistently gets off the ball quickly, stays after his block and eliminates his man from the play consistently
243 Palmer, Tony G 6-1 344 Missouri
Palmer is a 6-foot-1½, 345-pound guard who has very good strength, and has done a good job as a run blocker
