The
Steelers addressed every need. They paid
a steep price to move up seven spots in
the first round, but it netted them
arguably the draft's best wideout in
Santonio Holmes, who, from merely a
receiving standpoint, will be a very
good slot receiver but not a clear cut
number 1 type.
Santonio Holmes
possesses excellent deep speed with very good hands.
He doesn't drop a lot of balls, and is very durable.
We think he will be an excellent slot man but
doesn't really have the height to ever be a number
one guy...more
Smith is an
athletic safety with the playing
speed to make plays outside
along the sideline. He can run
with tight ends and running
backs in man-to-man coverage
down the seam and has shown the
ability to use his front arm to
break up passes.
He is a very
quick, elusive and explosive
receiver who consistently makes
big plays when he had the ball
in the open field -- his vision
and instincts help him find
holes and he can explode through
those holes to make big plays.
Colon is an
athletic small-school offensive
lineman who played tackle in
college, but due to a lack of
height and arm length, will need
to play guard in the NFL.
He no doubt has
the athletic ability, natural
strength and competitiveness to
be a good starting defensive
tackle in the NFL, but he does
not produce at the level he is
capable of.
He has the mental
intangibles and physical tools
to play quarterback in the NFL,
but in order for him to become
the player he is capable of, he
is going to have to greatly
improve his throwing technique.
