Antrel Rolle burst onto the national scene during his junior season
when he held the nation's top receiver, Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald, to three catches
for 26 yards. In the Orange Bowl at the end of the 2003 season, he completely shut down
Florida State's P.K. Sam after allowing him a 10-yard reception on the Seminoles' first
play from scrimmage

Antrel Rolle has always been a highly touted athlete. He was a star recruit out of
high school, and he's now one of the elite prospects for the 2005 NFL Draft. Over the
past two seasons Rolle has made his presence felt all over the field. His two-year
totals include 117 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, 3 INT, and 1 touchdown on
defense, with a 15.6 punt return average, with one touchdown on special teams.
Draft
Notes
Strengths:
Has it all when looking for that NFL cornerback. Rolle has great size at 6-1, 197 pounds
he is a very athletic player that can run with any wide receiver in the nation. Impact
player in the secondary and a playmaker...Great size...Good speed and
quickness...Excellent athletic ability...Does a nice job when asked to blitz...Very
strong, physical and aggressive...Will come up and be a factor in run support...Very
instinctive. He also has great hips and change of direction ability. He can play slot
and outside cornerback because he is fast enough to run with deep threat wide receivers
and quick enough to follow them on crossing patterns.
Weaknesses: I do not see many negatives in his game, he can run; he has great
size, agility and can tackle. Rolle has strong arms to help jam the receiver on the
line, even though he sometimes misses on the bump and gets beat on the run if you know
what I mean. Despite being big, strong, and physical at the line, he isn't quite the
hitter or tackler you would expect. He does not always finish off tackles, and with
players in the NFL being bigger and stronger, that is going to be something he needs to
concentrate on. Had some off the field troubles with the law and was suspended
from the team before his senior season but chargers were never filed.
Notes: Really made a name for himself by shutting down top wideouts such as
Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin...Not in the same class as Charles Woodson or Champ
Bailey were coming out by right there in the next tier with guys like Chris McAlister
and Terence Newman...A potential shutdown cornerback in the NFL and one of the rare
players who can dominate a game from the corner position...Should be one of the premier
players available and a top pick Great size and love his bump and run skills, not
too many cornerbacks do it like he does anymore. Super looking prospect one of the best
cornerbacks in the nation. Rated as the current number
three pick in our
mock draft

started 25 of Miami's last 26 games over the last two seasons, missing one game in
